Raptor is a very focused engineering design and development business and its team boasts a wide variety of high calibre aerospace engineering skills complemented with operational and commercial support.
Founder and Chief Innovation Officer – is regarded as the most experienced Suborbital rocketeer in Europe with more than 1,500 launches to his name. He has a first-class honours degree in Industrial Design and has been building and launching rockets for 30 years. His focus at Raptor is on product innovation and development.
Operations Director – has widespread experience across a range of operating environments, having worked in both the private and public sector, notably supporting high growth businesses in the engineering, manufacturing and digital industries. He is responsible for the operational infrastructure and support functions at Raptor.
Technical Director and Lead Systems Engineer – has a background in developing new concepts for the launch industry, working as an engineer for an orbital launch vehicle developer, and working with government in economic policy areas. He is responsible for systematising the engineering and commercialising the development.
Commercial and Finance – is an experienced venture capitalist and investor with more than 20 years’ experience of founding, financing, building and selling high growth businesses in the UK. He works with a variety of privately owned companies advising on growth strategy and corporate infrastructure.
Nabil Ibensobih Vázquez
Propulsion Engineer – completed his MSC in Space Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano with a thesis on advanced hybrid fuels, having previously completed an European Space Agency challenge in Altitude and Orbit Control Systems. He is responsible for hybrid motor development and test stand operations.
Mechanical Engineering Manager – has a B Eng Hons in Mechanical Engineering from University of Strathclyde. He is actively involved in simulation and modelling activities to support the design and development of both airframes and propulsion systems, whilst taking day to day responsibility for managing the Raptor workshop.
Graduate Engineer – holds an internationally acclaimed MSc. in Space Engineering from Cranfield University where her studies gave her practical experience in space engineering, propulsion, payload development, simulation and analysis. She is currently responsible for technical documentation and developing launch operation procedures.
Customer Engagement Lead – holds a BSc in Physics and Astronomy from University of Glasgow. She is currently responsible for engaging academic and commercial customers for Raptor’s launch and payload services whilst actively developing a comprehensive Payload User Guide for the Peregrine launch vehicle.
Aeronautical Design Engineer – completing a MSc in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Space Engineering at Southampton University. He has researched additive manufacturing of aerodynamic surfaces and has modelled new concepts in aeronautical design leading to Raptor’s first patent application.
Test Stand Engineer – holds a first-class degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Warwick University. His expertise in multiple programming languages, machine learning and AI has enabled him to develop, integrate and verify all the relevant operating systems for Raptor’s bespoke rocket motor test stand.
